Breathing in... or out

The last few months have been the blogging equivalent of an out breath. One of those cycles that I'm beginning to recognize. Time to breath in and start blogging on the next New London Anagama firing. Many fresh ideas.... we will see what happens... good to blog again!!

Glad to see you blogging again - I was beginning to worry! Good to meet you a couple months ago during the studio hop, and thanks for showing me your kiln. My firebricks should be delivered tomorrow, and I hope to spend the weekend building my wood kiln out here in Starbuck. We'll see how far I get - I have the cement block base in place now, so I'll be ready to go when I get the bricks.

Yes it was good to see you at the studio hop. Good to hear that your kiln is coming along. Kiln building is a special time, enjoy and savor it!!

Craig,
I love that plate! Glad to see your time has been freed up a bit. What did you use for the nice torn edges? Just hands?
I do believe you may see some plates just like that, but with rice straw ash and iron glaze coming out of my kiln in the near future...
I'll try calling you soon, catch up. Going to pick up used bricks this weekend in a 10 ton truck with crane. Should take a couple of trips to get it all. Picture me like Monty Burns grinning my evil grin while rubbing my hands together and murmuring "eeeexcelleeent"....

Alohaz Craig
I'm also chasing down this alley but not plates
I'm going for Bonsi planters
I'm adding a lot of sawdust to the clay to lighten it up a bit. I'm firing green and hope to see some carbon trapped under the glaze.
